Mixed weather through the coming week, cold with rain and showers at times

A mixed week with low pressure bringing rain and showers. It is likely to be windy too and will be chilly at times. A tendency towards less cool weather next week as a ridge of higher pressure starts to build to the south.

Friday 6/9/19
Low pressure north of Scotland on Friday. A cold front will be moving south through the country taking cloud and periods of rain with it. Most of the rain over southern Ireland, Wales and northern England, tending to be more showery to the south. Heavy showers and brighter weather follows into Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northern England later. A breezy day with colder weather following from the north. Highs at 19C in southeast England but more generally 12 to 16C.

Saturday 7/9/19
Low pressure east of the UK on Saturday brings a cool northerly flow and a mix of sunny spells and a few showers in the east at first. Increasing cloud in the west as a ridge of high pressure builds. Rain and drizzle in western Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 19C in the southern England.
 

Sunday 8/9/19
A warm front passes east through Scotland bringing cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle in northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland. Lower cloud with some drizzle in western Wales and southwest England too. Elsewhere it should be drier with bright or sunny spells, the best in the east and south. Highs at 12 to 20C.
 

Monday 9/9/19
A cold front brings rain southwards through England and Wales on Monday. Brighter and cooler weather with showers following into Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northern England. Tops at 17C in southern England, 11 to 15C for most areas.

Tuesday 10/9/19
A fair day is likely over much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland, but a risk of some rain in western Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 16 to 21C.

Wednesday 11/9/19
A breezy and more damp day with rain affecting many northern and western areas. Southern parts should be drier. Milder for all with highs at 13 to 19C.
