After a settled start in the week we then see a change to cooler, more unsettled weather

After a mixed weekend with some perhaps heavier rain in the east on Sunday, the weather looks to settle down for a time early next week. A change to more unsettled conditions with strengthened winds, rain as well as a cooler feel is expected from later in the week.

Tuesday 21/9/21
A ridge of high pressure on Tuesday will bring a largely settled day. After a cool start temperatures should recover well thanks to plenty of sunny spells about. Staying mostly dry, however, cloud and some rain looks to reach the northwest later in the afternoon. A southwesterly wind will strengthen across the north and west through the day also. Highs at 17 to 23C.


Wednesday 22/9/21
A dry start for southern areas but cloud will soon thicken here as a band of rain continues to track southwards down the country. Further north behind the rain it will be breezy and feel relatively fresh with sunny spells but also some showers, these mainly affecting western areas while eastern areas staying largely dry. Highs at cool 13 to 17C in the north, 18 to 24C further south.


Thursday 23/9/21
A more unsettled day overall on Thursday. Strengthened winds throughout the country with again a band of heavier rain tracking southeastwards. Blustery showers behind, these heavy and frequent in the north and west. Perhaps drier towards eastern Scotland and southern and eastern regions of Ireland. Chiller for all too. Highs at 13 to 19C.

Friday 24/9/21
Low pressure pushes into the North Sea on Friday. It will be windy day again and feel chilly. Rain expected in the north for a time before clearing. Sunny spells and showers elsewhere, heavy and frequent in the west although drier further east. Highs 12 to 18C.

Saturday 25/9/21
UK still influenced by a cooler north-westerly flow come the weekend, although winds not as brisk. Frequent showers or longer spells of rain in the west, drier and brighter further east. Possible heavier rain could push across some southern English counties. Highs at 12 to 19C.

Sunday 26/9/21
Sunny spells and showers again today but more in the way of drier periods expected. Staying chilly too. Highs at 12 to 19C.
