Cooler for all from midweek and turning more unsettled as low pressure moves in bringing spells of rain as well as blustery showers.

Staying warmer to start but by midweek a cold front sweeps down the country switching winds round to the north and northwest allowing for cooler conditions to come about. After a good deal of settled, dry weather recently, more unsettled conditions are forecast from Tuesday onwards as low pressure moves in.

Tuesday 22/09/20
A cold front pushes from northwest to southeast across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This will bring spells of rain to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland in the morning, before moving into England and Wales through the afternoon. South England should stay dry with a good deal of sunshien throughout the day. Brighter weather following to the north and west, this bringing sunny spells and showers. Highs around 13 to 16C for many, staying warm still in the southeast with temperatures here at 20C.


Wednesday 23/09/20
A cloudy and wet morning across central and east England as heavier rain moves through here. Sunny spells and showers elsewhere. In the afternoon rain still affecting parts of eastern England but largely dry across the rest of England and much of Wales as well as eastern Scotland. Rain, however, pushing into Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland as well as west Wales. Strengthening winds here too. A cooler day for all with highs at 18C in the southeast, ranging between 14 to 17C across southern and central England and ranging between 10 to 14C further north and west.


Thursday 24/09/20
A complex area of low pressure affects the British Isles on Thursday. Another band of rain, heavy at times, will sweep across the country. Behind the rain expect showers that could merge into longer spells of rain in places, particularly across Wales and southern England. Staying chilly with highs at 16C in the southeast and 13C further north.

Friday 25/09/20
Low pressure is going to cross the UK and will be in the North Sea on Friday. This allows for north to northwest winds to developing bringing sunny spells and frequent showers. The showers heavy in the north and west which is where the strongest winds will be too. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Saturday 26/09/20
Another cold day in the northwest wind. There will be sunny spells and showers. The showers could be heavy and thundery in northern and western areas. The best of the sunny spells in more southern areas. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Sunday 27/09/20
Still in a mixed weather scene on Sunday. Feeling cold in the northerly wind. Rain looks to still be affecting northern Scotland, heavy at times too. Showers in the west but drier further east. Highs ranging from 10C in the north and 14C in the south.
