Very warm or even hot next week, but varying temperatures before the weekend

The weather will become very warm and even hot in many eastern and southern areas this week. There will be some cooler days, especially until Saturday with broken cloud, sunny spells and some showers. Then becoming dry next week with further spells of sunshine developing. Friday 11/9/20
High pressure remains over southern England through Friday bringing another day with good spells of sunshine to many areas. Always cloudier in Northwest England, Scotland, Ireland, western Wales, and the western coast of Southwest England. There could be some drizzle affecting the cloudier western coasts. Much brighter and fresher in central and northern Scotland, scattered showers in the west. This brighter weather edging south into northern and western Ireland as well as southern Scotland during the day. Highs at 20C in southeast England, widely 15 to 18C, but nearer 14C in northwest Scotland.

Saturday 12/9/20
High pressure affecting southern areas on Saturday, bringing a fair day with good spells of sunshine and staying dry. Fronts passing through Scotland bring cloud to northwest England, northern and western Ireland as well as much of Scotland. Rain affects western Scotland too. Highs at 22C in southern England, 15C in northwest Scotland.
 

Sunday 13/9/20
High pressure builds to the east of the UK on Sunday. This brings a very warm day to most of England, Wales and Ireland with good spells of sunshine. Sunny spells and dry in eastern and southern Scotland. Thicker cloud and rain in central and northern Scotland, the rain heavy in the west. Highs at 26C in southeast England, widely 20 to 23C, but 16C in northwest Scotland.

Monday 14/9/20
Staying dry and very warm for most on Monday. It should be generally dry with sunny intervals. There may be some cloud around northern coasts of Scotland, but generally a fair day is expected. Highs at 21 to 29C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 15/9/20
A very warm south to southeast flow persists through Tuesday. There is likely to be more cloud around and there could be a few showers developing, these perhaps thundery at times. Highs at 19 to 29C.

Wednesday 16/9/20
Pressure stays generally high, centred north of the country. There will be broken cloud in eastern and central areas, perhaps with a few showers developing. Best of the sunshine in western areas. Highs at 18 to 26C.
