A mixed week with most rain in northern areas, drier south and east

Mixed conditions during the week ahead, with a north-south split across the UK and Ireland. More southern and eastern areas will tend to have the drier of the weather with the best sunshine, whilst fronts will be bringing rain and showers to the north and west. Strong winds in northern areas at times too. Generally temperatures will be around or above average. For the weather for the next few days click here


Friday 4/9/20
A front across southern England brings cloud and outbreaks of rain here. Most of it showery, but a few heavier bursts coming along as well. Showers in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest England and the north and west of Ireland. Drier in eastern areas with the best of the sunshine here. Some cloud through Wakes and the Midlands as well as East Anglia. Highs at 14 to 18C.


Saturday 5/9/20
Low pressure north of Scotland on Saturday with a weak ridge of high pressure to the south. Cloud and showery rain in Scotland and Ireland, especially the north and west. Some showers in northwest England too. Drier for eastern and southern parts with sunny spells here. Highs at 13 to 20C.
 


Sunday 6/9/20
A weak cold front passes south through the UK on Sunday. This brings some showery spots of rain with it across northern England and Scotland. Drier again to the south with sunny spells. fair in Scotland and much of Ireland as a ridge of high pressure builds. Tops at 13C in northern Scotland, 22C in southern England.
 


Monday 7/9/20
A ridge of high pressure through Ireland, England and Wales giving dry weather here with good spells of sunshine. Cloud in northern and western Ireland as well as Scotland where there will be rain to the north and west. Breezy in Scotland too. Tops at 15C in northern Scotland, 22C in southern England.
 


Tuesday 8/9/20
Fronts in Scotland, northern England and Ireland bringing some outbreaks of rain here. Fair to the far south with good spells of sunshine. Probably brighter in northern Scotland with some sunny spells. Windy in the north too. Highs at 24C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday 9/9/20
The weak ridge of high pressure remains in Ireland, Wales and southern England bringing mostly dry weather here. Cloudier to the west and brighter in the east. Some spots of drizzle in western and northern Scotland as well as the coasts of northwest Ireland. Highs at 15 to 21C.
