Showers and rain, brief drier spells, perhaps a better weekend

A mixed week ahead with rain and showers as well as some drier weather. There is uncertainty in the detail heading into the weekend. Conditions may settled down for a short time, althougk by the beginning of the new week unsettled weather may return.

Wednesday 19/6/19
Another unsettled day with low pressure bringing rain to many areas. Heavy periods of rain passing eastwards during the day, some thundery. Rather murky with hill fog for some. Brighter in the west with showers, these turning heavy in Ireland and the west of Scotland. Highs near 22C in southeast England, 15 to 17C for most.

Thursday 20/6/19
Low pressure to the north on Thursday with high pressure to the south. A mix of sunshine and showers, most of them scattered and most in the west. Highs at 15 to 19C.

 
 
 

Friday 21/6/19
Pressure builds slightly on Friday. This should give mostly dry and bright conditions for many with isolated showers. More persistent showers in central and northern Scotland. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.

 
 
 

Saturday 22/6/19
A ridge of high pressure through the UK and Ireland on Saturday. This may give a dry day with sunny spells, although there is a chance of some scattered showers. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Sunday 23/6/19
Higher pressure drifts to the east on Sunday but lower pressure may affect Ireland. Coud and outbreaks of showery rain in Ireland and perhaps the west of the UK. Drier and brighter to the east with some sunny spells. Highs at 14 to 22C.

Monday 24/6/19
The risk of a more unsettled day on Monday. Low pressure close to Ireland may give rain and cloud for many areas, although note confidence is low. Highs at 15 to 21C.
