More rain, but turning showery and then drier for a time next week

Unsettled weather continuing in the days ahead, although the rainfall will not be so prolonged. Conditions tending to turn more showery into the weekend. Hints of the weather settling down for a short time early next week, before showers and rain return.

Saturday 15/6/19
Low pressure is over and to the west of Ireland on Saturday. Areas of heavy and thundery showers affecting Ireland. A further area of rain, some of it heavy, moves into western Ireland, western Wales and southwest England during the morning. Brighter over eastern and central areas, a few isolated showers in the south though. Probably turning wetter from the west during the afternoon as more persist rain passes slowly east. Perhaps dry in northeast Scotland until dark. Tops at 22C in southeast England, 14C in the west.

Sunday 16/6/19
The area of low pressure remains west of Scotland on Sunday. This brings another showery day. The showers will be heaviest in central and western Scotland as well as Ireland. More scattered showers for England and Wales with the best of any brightness in the east. Highs at 14 to 21C.
 

Monday 17/6/19
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Monday, higher pressure to the south. Drier and brighter weather in the southern half of the UK and Ireland, although scattered showers are likely. The showers heavier and more persistent in Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as parts of northern England. Highs at 22C in southeast England, 15 to 19C for most.
 

Tuesday 18/6/19
Higher pressure affecting most of the country through Tuesday. This brings sunny spells, drier and warmer weather. A few showers still affecting northern Scotland. Highs at 18 to 24C.

Wednesday 19/6/19
Lower pressure on Wednesday brings a return to sunshine and showers. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times. Highs at 18 to 25C.

Thursday 20/6/19
Low pressure is expected to remain over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Sunshine and showers will affect many areas, some of the showers merging to longer spells of rain. Highs at 17 to 23C.
