Rain and showers, but slowly improving into next week

Unsettled weather persists through the coming week. Low pressure brings rain and showers, some of it heavy. There is a general trend towards less wet weather as the week progresses with pressure trying to increase into the end of the weekend and next week. This leads to fewer showers and warmer temperatures.

Friday 14/6/19
Low pressure remains in control on Friday, probably over or west of Ireland. Rain seems more likely to be affect Scotland and Ireland as well as western parts of England and Wales, but there is uncertainty in the detail. Thundery showers are likely in central, southern and eastern parts of England and Scotland. Some bright or sunny spells here too. Highs at 21C in the southeast, 14C in Ireland and the west of the UK.

Saturday 15/6/19
The area of low pressure is expected to remain west of the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely in the west. The showers tending to be more scattered in the east although still heavy at times. Highs at 21C in the east, 16C to the west.
 

Sunday 16/6/19
The area of low pressure stays west of Scotland and Ireland on Sunday. Weak fronts affecting southern Ireland and southern England bringing the threat of cloud and some spots of rain here. Sunshine and scattered showers elsewhere, these heaviest and thundery in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 15 to 21C.
 

Monday 17/6/19
Low pressure to the north of Scotland with higher pressure to the south. Drier weather and some sunny spells in southern England. Showers affecting more northern areas. Highs around 15 to 21C.

Tuesday 18/6/19
Higher pressure builds over the fair south on Tuesday with low pressure to the north. Most of any showers will be to the north with southern areas tending to be drier, although with the risk of an isolated shower here. Highs near 16 to 22C.

Wednesday 19/6/19
Higher pressure is likely to be affecting most areas on Wednesday. Generally it should be a drier day with sunny spells. Tops near 18 to 23C.
