Thundery rain early this week, briefly better later

Showers for the first part of this week with thundery rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. An improvement is likely later in the week and briefly into the weekend. However any drier weather is likely to be short lived as low pressure returns to bring rain next week.

Thursday 20/6/19
Low pressure is expected to be to the north of Scotland on Thursday. This brings a day of sunshine and showers to most of the UK and Ireland. The heaviest and most frequent showers in northern and western Scotland as well as much of Ireland. Breezy in the north too. The showers to the south and east should be more scattered, although stil a few heavy ones may affect western coasts and hills. Highs at 13 to 16C in northern and western areas, 20C in southeast England.

Friday 21/6/19
Pressure may build to the south on Friday, low pressure stays to the north. Sunny spells and scattered showers for Scotland, most in the north and west. Drier elsewhere with sunny spells, the best of this in the south. Tops at a chilly 12C in northern Scotland, 16 to 19C for most.
 

Saturday 22/6/19
High pressure remains through much of England, Wales and Scotland. This should allow for a fair day with good spells of sunshine. Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland with the threat of some rain in the far west. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 17 to 21C in much of England and Wales, perhaps to 23C in more southern areas.
 

Sunday 23/6/19
Uncertainty in how conditions develop through Sunday. Scotland and northern England, as well as Northern Ireland are likely to be dry. There is a risk of some rain spreads into southern England, Wales and southern Ireland although confidence in this is low. Highs at 17 to 22C.

Monday 24/6/19
Lower pressure is probably going to be affecting the country on Monday. This leads to a more mixed day with most of any rain in the west and south. Highs at 17 to 21C.

Tuesday 25/6/19
Probably a day of showers or rain on Tuesday. Detailed is tricky to pin down at this time, although lower pressure does seem likely to be in control. Highs at 14 to 21C.
