Very warm and muggy, turning fresher with some showers through the weekend and into next week

Thundery weather in the early parts of the week, mostly in eastern and southern areas. Higher pressure then builds into the middle and later stages of the week with plenty of sunshine and warm or very warm weather developing for many. Turning fresher through the weekend with some showers or outbreaks of rain, mostly in the north and west. Sunshine and dry conditions in the south next week, but showers in the north.

Thursday 27/6/19
High pressure stays to the west of Scotland but affects much of the UK on Thursday. This should bring a fair day for most with good spells of sunshine. Breezy in England and Wales where it will also feel cool on eastern coasts on England. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in the far south of Ireland bringing the risk of rain here. Central and northern parts of Ireland should be drier with broken cloud and sunny spells. Temperatures at 25C in western Scotland, but a cooler 16C on eastern coast of England and Wales.


Friday 28/6/19
High pressure off the east of the UK on Friday bringing a dry day with plenty of sunshine for many. Feeling very warm to hot. Eastern Ireland is likely to be dry with more sunshine too, although cloud and some patchy rain affects the west and south, with some mist and fog on coasts. Temperatures at 23 to 29C, but 18C on eastern coasts.
 


Saturday 29/6/19
The area of high pressure stays east of the UK on Saturday with lower pressure to the west. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in western parts of the UK and Ireland, most in western Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northern Wales and northwest England. Drier and brighter to the east and south with good spells of sunshine. Hot in the south and east at 29C, cooler in the west at 18 to 23C.


Sunday 30/6/19
Low pressure north of Scotland on Sunday with a fresher, westerly flow affecting many areas. There will be sunny spells, but also showers in the north and west. A few could be heavy. Drier in more eastern and southern areas. Breezy in Scotland. Highs at 23C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.


Monday 1/7/19
Low pressure stays to the north on Monday with high pressure to the south. There will be sunny spells and it should be dry for many areas. Some outbreaks of rain in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 24C in southeast England, 14C in northwest England and more generally 17 to 21C.

Tuesday 2/7/19
Higher pressure brings another mostly dry day with god spells of sunshine. A few showers in northern and western Scotland. Temperatures at 14 to 22C.
