UK Forecast - March 11, 2021
Windy, showers
Gales in west

Friday
The strong to gale force westerly flow remains through the whole of the UK and Ireland on Friday. An occluded front passes east in the morning bringing rain to Wales and southwest England, then through the rest of England late morning, before clearing east. This is followed by brighter weather with sunny spells and showers. The showers could be heavy again on western coasts and hills. Heavy showers throughout the day in northern and western Scotland with these being wintry over high ground. Further showers in Ireland, fewer in the east, although increased cloud brings rain to the west later. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Friday Night
An area of rain spreads from west to east over much of the UK, with the exception of the far north of Scotland, on Friday night though should clear into the North Sea by Saturday morning. This turns to sleet and snow over higher ground. Showers follow to the west, these locally heavy to the northwest. Staying very windy with overnight lows at 1 to 6C for most, colder in more rural spots.

Saturday
Low pressure is north of Scotland again on Saturday. Rain for all overnight and breezy too. These should clear eastern coasts on Saturday morning to be followed by a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers will be heaviest in the west with a risk of hail and thunder. The showers could turn wintry over hills too. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Sunday
A weak ridge of high pressure may briefly build on Sunday. This should bring a more settled spell of weather to start the day with sunny spells and a few showers. Showers mostly to the north and west. Thicker cloud and further rain arriving in Ireland and Scotland as well as Wales and western England later. Highs around 6 to 11C.
