Rain and showers this week, improving into next week
Unsettled weather persists through the rest of this week. This is going to be bringing strong winds with rain and showers. Turning cooler through the end of the week and into the weekend. The weather tends to settle down next week as higher pressure builds.

Sunday 14/03/21
A weak ridge of high pressure may briefly build on Sunday. This should bring a more settled spell of weather to start the day with sunny spells and a few showers. Showers mostly to the north and west. Thicker cloud and further rain arriving in Ireland and Scotland as well as Wales and western England later. Highs around 6 to 11C.
 Monday 15/03/21
Rain overnight will be clearing through Monday morning. The flow then turns more northwesterly bringing a mix of sunshine and showers, most over northern and western coasts and hills. A few of the showers could be heavy. High temperatures at 6C in northeast Scotland, more widely 8 to 13C.
 Tuesday 16/03/21
Pressure tends to build through Tuesday. However, fronts may bring some cloud and rain to Ireland as well as northern and western Scotland. Cloudier for the west of England and Wales, but some sunny spells in the east. Highs range from 9 to 15C.
Wednesday 17/03/21
Higher pressure remains over the country through Wednesday. A more northeast wind is likely to be bringing some showers to the east, but it should be dry in other areas. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Thursday 18/03/21
More showers or longer spells of rain may affect the east of Scotland and eastern England on Thursday. Drier in the west. Cool for all with a risk of the showers being wintry on hills in the east. Highs at 7 to 12C.
Friday 19/03/21
High pressure stays close by on Friday. A weak front may being some cloud and patchy light rain passing south over England through the day. Staying mostly dry elsewhere with good spells of sun to the west. Highs at a cooler 6 to 9C.
