A weak ridge of high pressure brings a brighter start to the day over much of the country, although some cloud and outbreaks of drizzle and low cloud affecting hills of southern England and Wales. The best of the sunshine in eastern areas. Cloud increases through Ireland and western Scotland bringing rain here for the afternoon, this turning more persistent in western Ireland with the winds increasing to gale force. Drizzle over high ground of northwest England and western Wales as well as southwest England later. Highs at 6 to 10C, feeling colder in the wind.

Saturday Night
Rain spreads across Scotland and into northern England and Wales overnight from Saturday into Sunday. Further outbreaks of rain affect Ireland through the night too. Staying dry but cloudy over southern and southeastern England. Rain clears from Scotland by morning leaving clearer skies here but with scattered showers to the west. A breezy night for all with overnight lows ranging from 4 to 9C for most.

Sunday
A moist southwesterly flow across all areas of the country on Sunday. There will be outbreaks of rain and drizzle in Wales and England initially, most of it in the west. More persistent rain and showers develop in western Scotland as well as in western and northwestern Ireland, but staying drier in the east. The best of any sunshine will be over far southern parts of England. A breezy day for all with winds reaching gale force in the west. High temperatures at 9 to 13C.

Monday
A broad southwest flow continues over the UK and Ireland on Monday. This is going to be bringing plenty of cloud to northern and western areas. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the northwest, some of it heavy over parts of Ireland and Scotland as well as over the northwestern coasts and hills of England and Wales. It will be breezy for these areas too. Tending to be drier in the east. Largely dry and bright across central and southeast England with this brightness extending into Wales and northern England through the day. Highs at 10 to 17C.
