This generally heaviest to the west but some heavier bursts will develop over northeastern areas later. High temperatures widely at 7 to 10C.

Sunday Night
Outbreaks of rain continue to affect much of Scotland overnight sinking south along the eastern coast and reaching into northeastern parts of England by morning. Some light, patchy rain also affects far western fringes of Ireland. Elsewhere it's a dry night with variable amounts of cloud. Overnight lows at 2 to 4C across Scotland, western Ireland and the northeast of England, more widely at -1 to 1C allowing for a patchy frost to form.

Monday
A largely dry day across England and Wales although cloud will build from the north and west through the day. The best of the lasting sunshine over central, southern and eastern areas. Elsewhere patchy outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, these spreading into northeastern parts of England as well at times. Rain locally heavy over northwest Scotland. High temperatures widely at 7 to 10C again.

Tuesday

Currently, central and eastern areas will stay mainly dry but increasingly cloudy during the day with rain expected here overnight. Southwesterly winds strengthening to gale force and possibly strong gale force towards the northwest. Highs between 8 and 12C.
