Morning Call - November 28, 2018
Severe gales
Rain clears east

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 28th November 2018
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Severe gales, rain clearing east, much milder than recently

Good morning,

I'm not sure that brolly's will be worth taking out this morning as it is going to be windy throughout today. Gusts of wind ovf 40 to 50mph affecting central and southern areas, 50 to 60mph in northern England but 60 to 70mph in much of western Scotland, western coasts of England, wales and Ireland. That's strong enough to course some minor damage.

There will be rain too, the first area clearing from eastern parts of Scotland and England this morning. Then a brief drier slot follows before a band of heavy showers then move in, passing east. It could be that we see some brighter skies this afternoon in central and southern areas.

An area of particularly strong winds passing through Ireland and into western Scotland this afternoon. Winds should ease for most tonight, although pick up to gale force in the south and southeast.
