Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

It will be a cold, dry and bright start to the day for many in eastern parts of the British Isles however rain, cloud and strong winds will move in from the west as the day progresses. The change in weather will be accompanied by some fairly mild temperatures though with highs of 10 to 11C expected for the south and west.

Good morning,

It will be a cloudy and wet start for much of Ireland and the western fringes of Scotland, Wales and England too. The rain and cloud will spread eastward throughout the day reaching most areas by the evening rush hour. Northeast Scotland and East Anglia will be cloudy but should stay dry until later in the evening.

It will be a windy day for most as winds will reach gale force or stronger through the Irish and Celtic Seas and around the Western Isles by the morning and persist through the afternoon. Near gale force winds will impact northeastern areas by the evening rush hour.

Tuesday will start mild for southern Ireland under the cloud with temperatures already into double figures by daybreak. Away from the cloud, temperatures which more typically range from 2 to 6C first thing. Highs on Tuesday expected to reach 5 to 10C.

Have a great day!

Claire
