Heavy downpours with local thunder in west

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred to the north-west of the British Isles today, slowly filling. An unsettled south to southwesterly airflow prevails.

Heavy bursts of rain and gusty wind for western regions. Rain may be almost constant for many hours in west Wales and south-west Scotland. Hail and isolated thunder possible in heavier outbreaks. Showery bursts too for English Channel coasts.

Scattered showers moving into central areas through the day, but it stays largely dry for eastern England and north-east Scotland with sunshine in and out.

Today's top temperatures will be 10C in the north-west, up to 13C for the Midlands and south-east.

Have a great day.
Garry
