Dry & bright for most
Occasional showers

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 28th October 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly dry and bright day for the UK and Ireland with occasional showers over northern areas. Cloudier to the southwest with outbreaks of rain later.

Good morning,

A mostly dry and bright start to the day across the country. A patchy groundfrost is expected first thing while any early mist or fog patches should clear quickly. Isolated showers, some of them wintry, affect northern parts of Scotland and northeastern parts of England. Cloudier to over southern Ireland and southern England.

Continuing cloudy over southern areas into the afternoon while showers mostly ease over Scotland. The best of the sunshine for central areas. High temperatures reaching 7 to 9C for most. Colder to the north at just 5 or 6C, slightly milder to the far south and southeast at 10C.

Cloud builds over southwestern areas into the evening bringing outbreaks of rain to Cornwall, Devon, Kerry and Cork. Mostly dry elsewhere though a few showers could develop for eastern coastal regions of England and Scotland.

Have a good day!

Claire
