Unsettled, more rain and showers, windy in the south

Good morning,

An unsettled day ahead for most of us with low pressure over the country. This is going to be bringing showers or longer spells of rain at times. Most of the rain is expected in the Midlands and northern England with heavy showers following to the west and south. Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing the fewest showers this morning. Windy in the far south too.

Further showers this afternoon, mostly in Wales, central and southern England as well as southern Ireland. Some will be heavy and thundery. Staying windy in the south. More persistent rain in eastern Scotland and northeast England, some of it heavy. Drier in western Scotland. The best of any brightness in Northern Ireland. More showers to come overnight, most likely in ales and southwest England, perhaps northwest England too. A risk of rain in eastern Scotland and northeast England.
