Cloudy with some rain midweek

Monday
A much fresher feeling day for all regions with a west to southwesterly breeze. Largely dry with bright skies and sunny spells for much of England and Wales. A few showers in the north and west. Some more frequent rain for a time in western Scotland, local showery bursts passing east through the day. Top temperatures reaching 24C in southeast, 21C central areas, 16 to 19C north and west.


Monday night
Most places will be dry through the night with clear skies toward the east. High cloud will thicken from the west, lowering near western coasts of Britain with drizzly rain arriving before dawn. Steadier rain pushing across Ireland. Strengthening southwesterly winds in western regions. Overnight lows falling to 9 to 13C, or locally down to 6C in Highland Scotland.
 


Tuesday
A warm front drifts eastwards across Britain. Extensively cloudy with drizzle and outbreaks of rain, most persistent in western areas over the hills. Small amounts of patchy light rain in central and southern England, largely dry in the southeast. Heavier rain for western Scotland and Northern Ireland, may push into northwest England. Breezy, or windy in the north and west. Humid, highs 18 to 24C.


Wednesday
Feeling humid in the south and east. Fairly cloudy skies and a little drizzly rain spreading from the west. A cold front moves across Ireland into Scotland, Wales and northern England with heavy rain especially in the west. A belt of showery rain advances eastwards in the afternoon. Brighter skies and fresher air follows from the west. West to southwesterly breezes. Highs 21 to 26C, nearer 17C in west.
