Many dry and bright yet cooler

Good morning,

A bright and sunny yet chilly start for many with a touch of frost further north. Cloud and showery rain will gradually clear from southern England and south Wales, while patchy rain and cloud affects northwest Scotland and far western counties of Ireland.

Cloud pushes south through the day though it brightens up across southern areas with only just a few spots of rain in places still by mid afternoon in southern England. More persistent rain develops across north and west Scotland.

Cloud and patchy rain move south down the country overnight, snow towards higher ground further north. Remaining dry with clear skies lasting across far southern English counties where it will be chilly with a slight frost developing for some.
