Cloud and patchy rain clearing to the south

Good morning,

A frosty and sunny start to the far south, though for many a cloudier start this morning with some patchy rain about. The cloud clears from the north seeing brighter, sunnier spells develop through the morning across northern areas.

Cloud and patchy rain continue to clear to the south during the afternoon. A brighter and sunnier afternoon for many though chilly where exposed to the wind in the east where also there is a higher risk of some scattered showers pushing on to the shores here.

A largely dry, clear and cold night with temperatures dropping back more extensively across the country. Scattered showers will continue to push on to northern and eastern coastal areas and hills, falling wintry over the higher ground.
