Foggy start in south then fair, some cloud in the north, frost tonight

Some dense, freezing fog cross England and Wales this morning. This is only going to be lifting slowly and may well last in some areas until late morning. Other areas will be seeing some sunshine. More cloud in Scotland as a weak front edges south, this bringing some spots of rain over hills.

This afternoon sees the front through northern England and Ireland, so cloudier skies here. Turning brighter in Scotland. Sunny skies too in southern and central England.

More fog forming tonight in southern England as wel as a frost. Some frost too in Scotland. Cloudier northern England and Ireland.
