Rain moving through in the north, cooler weather behind.

Good morning,

A dry and fine morning with sunny spells across England and Wales into eastern Ireland. Thicker cloud building across Scotland, west Ireland and Northern Ireland with rain moving across western areas here.

The afternoon sees the band of rain progress southwards down the country clearing from the north with brighter yet cooler conditions behind. A few wintry showers across the NW Highlands and rain showers through the Northern Isles. Cloud building further south with some patchy light rain across Wales and the Midlands, otherwise dry.

Cooler, clearer conditions push across the country from the north through the night behind the cloud and patchy light rain as it moves south through England and Wales. Lows dropping to below zero where the skies clear in the north and west.
