Mild and mixed with showers and rain, then colder weekend
The unsettled weather theme continues with low pressure bringing more rain and showers this week. There will be some drier days but overall the same weather pattern remains. Probably turning colder by the weekend with wintry showers on hills, windy too. Mild for the rest of the week.

Wednesday 20/3/24 Low pressure over England and Wales on Wednesday bringing a wet day for some. Most rain is likely in more northern and western areas. It may be that East Anglia, parts of the Midlands and southeast England become warm, and although plenty of cloud there could be some bright spells too. Showers may affect eastern Scotland whilst the west is dry. It is likely to be drier too in Ireland. Light winds with tops of 17C in central and southern England, a cooler 8 to 10C elsewhere.
Thursday 21/3/24 Rain for northern and western Scotland on Thursday as a front edges east. Ireland is likely to be damp too. Fair for England and Wales at first with sunny spells although cloud increasing in the west bringing some outbreaks of rain here in the afternoon. Highs at 10 to 13C.
Friday 22/3/24 Showery rain clearing southern and eastern England on Friday morning. Then becoming brighter and drier for some. However, heavy showers and strong winds affecting Scotland, western England and Wales as well as northern and western Ireland. Best sunshine in the east. Severe gales in the north and west. Colder north and west with highs near 6 to 12C.
Saturday 23/3/24 A colder day on Saturday. Northwest winds bringing sunshine and heavy showers, most north and west. Some may be wintry on hills of Scotland, northern England and Wales. fair east and south. Highs at 6 to 9C.
Sunday 24/3/24 A few showers in the east this morning. Other areas are going to be brighter and drier under a ridge of high pressure. Feeling cool. Highs at 8 to 12C.
Monday 25/3/24 Rain in Scotland and Ireland on Monday. Fair for England and Wales with some spells of sunshine here. Highs at 10 to 14C.
