Low pressure gives another unsettled week with rain, wind, showers and chilly weather

Unsettled again through the coming week. There will be periods of showers abd rain as well as strong winds at times. Snow over the hills of Scotland and feeling cool for many. Wettest mid-week then more showers although the prospects are not looking good for later in the Easter weekend as rain returns.

Tuesday 26/3/24
Low pressure over the British Isles on Tuesday, centred to the south of Ireland. Rain affecting much of Ireland, southern Wales and southern England. A further areas of cloud and periods of rain through central and eastern Scotland. The rain may fall as snow on hills. Heavy showers in northern Scotland. Eastern coasts of England will have a tendency towards ore cloud throughout the day the best brighter and drier weather in northwest England and the Midlands as well as Northern Ireland. A moderate to fresh east wind. A chilly day for many with highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.


Wednesday 27/3/24
A wet day for many on Wednesday as a brodd, deep area of low pressure dominates the weather across the UK and Ireland. Bands of rain tracking south to north, some of it heavy. Snow over the hills of central and northern Scotland. Highs near 7 to 10C overall but just 3C in northern Scotland.


 


Thursday 28/3/24
Low pressure passes through the British Isles on Thursday. Staying unsettled and windy. More rain, most over western areas. Showers in the east. Chilly for all with a risk of some snow over the central Highlands of Scotland. Highs at 6 to 11C.



 
 
 


Good Friday 29/3/24
Pressure stays low through the country on Good Friday. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers heaviest in the west with fewer in eastern areas. Highs at 8 to 12C.



 
 
 


Saturday 30/3/24
Pressure remains low through Saturday. Heavy showers, some of them thundery across many areas. Possibly drier and coasts. Tops at 10 to 15C for most, nearer 7C in northern Scotland.

Easter Sunday 31/3/24
Yet another areas of low pressure developing south of the country on easter Sunday. This brings more rain to England and Wales, some of it heavy. Winds may be strong to gale force in places. Probably drier, cold and windy in Scotland. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.
