Low pressure brings rain and showers, a cold weekend and then milder next week

Staying unsettled with low pressure dominating bringing periods of rain and showers. A cool weekend before turning milder yet staying unsettled next week.

Saturday 23/3/24
Low pressure northeast of Scotland on Saturday with a gale force north to northwest wind affecting the whole of the British Isles. Heavy showers and a risk of thunder. The showers wintry over hills of Scotland and northern England. The showers could merge to longer spells of rain at times. Highs at 6 to 9C and feeling cold in the wind.


 

Sunday 24/3/24
Low pressure stays east on Sunday with a ridge of high pressure building into the west. A few showers over eastern Scotland and eastern England, some of them wintry. Fair for most with good spells of sunshine and feeling cold, especially in the wind. Increasing cloud across Ireland with some rain in the west and south. Highs at 6 to 11C.


 

Monday 25/3/24
Low pressure over the British Isles on Monday. Unsettled with periods fo rain and showers. Cooler northern Scotland but milder to the south. Highs at 6C in northern areas, 10C in the south.



 
 
 

Tuesday 26/3/24
Low pressure over the British Isles again on Tuesday. Unsettled conditions once again with showers or longer spells of rain. A cool day with tops at 6 to 10C.



 
 
 

Wednesday 27/3/24
A ridge of high pressure in the east and south at first bringing a fair start to the day. Cloud increasing here through the day. Rain and windy weather in Ireland and western Scotland, the rain arriving in western areas later. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Thursday 28/3/24
Low pressure west of Ireland bringing unsettled conditions over much of the country again. Outbreaks of rain and showers in the west, fair in the east and still breezy. Tops at 11 to 15C.
