Cold and unsettled with rain and showers, perhaps changing next week

Indications of a change in the weather next week as less cold suddenly winds develop. Before then this week remains cold and unsettled. There will be rain and showers at times and some of these could be heavy, bringing a risk of further flooding.

Thursday 14/11/19
The area of low pressure crosses southern parts of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. There will be bands of rain and strong winds surrounding the low, although it is uncertain at this time as to where the heaviest rain may be. Most is expoected through central and southern England and Wales, with further rain in northeast England. Wintry showers in northern Scotland with sunny spells, drier and brighter in Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Highs at 4 to 6C.

Friday 15/11/19
Low pressure to to the southeaston Friday with a ridge of high pressure building into Ireland and western Scotland. There will be some showers opver eastern areas of England, but more central and western areas should be drier and brighter, although feeling cold in the wind. A few wintry showers in northern and eastern Scotland, but dry overall with sunshine. Staying dry with sunshine in Ireland. Feeling cool at 5 to 8C.

Saturday 16/11/19
A slack pressure flow for Saturday. There may be more showers in East Anglia and the southeast. Some mist or fog patches early on elsewhere, these clearing to leave the day dry with some bright spells. A risk of rain in western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 5 to 8C.
 

Sunday 17/11/19
Cloud and outbreaks of rain in western areas of the UK and through Ireland on Sunday as a weak front edges east. Rather misty and murky here too. Drier in the east and south but misty here with some fog patches. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Monday 18/11/19
A ridge of high pressure building again on Monday. There could be some mist and fog patches, and these may last for many through the day. A rather murky day, although the cloud breaks here and there with brighter spells. Highs at 3 to 7C.

Tuesday 19/11/19
A more southerly flow brings milder air and the risk of some rain on Tuesday. It may be rather murky for a while as the milder air arrives. Highs at 4 to 10C.
