Wet and windy, milder towards the weekend but then perhaps cooler by mid-week
An unsettled period of weather developing towards the weekend. Temperatures will be turning milder as more persistent rain brings the risk of some flooding. Next week becomes milder for a time, although there are some hints of colder weather slipping south through Scotland and northern England later.

Saturday 23/11/19
Low pressure over the south of the UK on Saturday. Fronts pass north and west bringing rain, some of it heavy, especially over northern and eastern England. Drier in the far northwest of Scotland. Some drier weather may arrive in southern England as well. Wet in eastern Ireland, drier in the west. Highs at 8 to 12C.
 Sunday 24/11/19
Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Sunday. Rain and windy conditions in Ireland and western Scotland. Drier in England and Wales with some brighter spells to the east, although always a risk of drizzle over western hills. Highs at 8 to 13C.
 Monday 25/11/19
Low pressure remains in control of the weather through Monday. It is likely to be windy and there will be heavy showers in the west. Drier in the east with broken cloud. Brighter spells too. Highs at 9 to 15C.
Tuesday 26/11/19
There may be a weak ridge of high pressure building on Tuesday. This brings the prospect of drier weather with a mix of sunshine and showers. Most showers in Scotland, a few on western coasts of hills, but fading elsewhere. Highs at 10 to 14C.
Wednesday 27/11/19
Low pressure is over the UK and Ireland again on Wednesday. Rain and strong winds, probably mostly in the west and south. More northern areas should be drier with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 14C.
Thursday 28/11/19
It may become cooler in northern areas on Thursday. Sunny spells and heavy showers in northern areas, these turning to sleet and snow over the hills of Scotland. Drier to the south. Highs at 4 to 10C.
