Less wet than recent weeks, milder too

A change in the weather is underway this week as very wet conditions of recent weeks gives way to milder, more mixed southerly flow. Temperatures are going to be feeling milder too as this week progresses, although there may be some misty and murky days head.

Thursday 21/11/19
Low pressure over southern Ireland with fronts passing eastwards and northwards through the UK and Ireland. There will be bands of rain associated with the fronts, most of this rain turning lighter as it heads east. Showers and some sunny spells following to the west. These showers could merge to longer spells of rain in Ireland, west Wales and southwest England. Breezy with highs at 9 to 12C for many, but cooler in Scotland at 6 to 8C.

Friday 22/11/19
A large area of low pressure over western Ireland on Friday. Drizzle and rain affects western and southern areas. Northern and eastern parts will be drier with broken cloud. Highs at 8 to 12C.

 
 
 

Saturday 23/11/19
A slack, east to southeast pressure flow on Saturday. This brings broken cloud and some sunny spells, once any morning mist and fog patches have cleared. Low cloud may affect eastern coasts. Highs at 7 to 11C.

 
 
 

Sunday 24/11/19
Low pressure west of Scotland on Sunday brings rain into Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and southwest England. Through central and eastern areas it should be drier with sunny spells. Highs at 14C in southwest England, 6C in northern Scotland.

Monday 25/11/19
Pressure stays low west and north of the UK and Ireland on Monday. The threat of some drizzle and low cloud over western coasts and hills, but drier and brighter in the east and south. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Tuesday 26/11/19
Low pressure west of Ireland on Tuesday. Fronts bring rain and strong winds to western areas. The east should be dry with some brighter spells for a time. Highs at 7 to 12C.
