Scattered showers Monday
Wetter for many Tuesday

Monday
Low pressure will be centred to the north of Scotland, producing a fresh and showery southwesterly pattern across the British Isles. Rain will be most frequent for Ireland and western Scotland, where it may set in for periods. A scattering of showers is likely for England & Wales, passing eastwards through the day. Some places will escape often dry with sunny spells. Breezy, the strongest winds in the north. Highs 17 to 20C south & east, 13 to 16C northwest.

Monday night
Many places will become dry into the evening and night, and skies will clear for inland and eastern districts. Cloudier skies will prevail toward the west, and in southwestern regions of England & Wales rain will move in, turning persistent and heavy in places by dawn. Staying breezy in the north, and around some southern coasts, but lighter winds inland. Temperatures dipping to 8 to 12C, locally lower in sheltered rural spots of mid-Wales and Scotland.

Tuesday
Low pressure moves in from the southwest and a frontal system is expected to pivot slowly across England and Wales, bringing a risk of rain for several hours in western regions. The east and southeast may escape largely dry with just a few showers. Rain will also advance across Ireland and into southern Scotland. The far north of the Highlands should stay mainly dry. Winds varied, locally blustery near coasts. Highs 13 to 19C, warmest southeast.

Wednesday
Slack pressure influences the British Isles. A mix of sunshine and scattered showers. Many places may well escape largely dry, whilst locally showers may be more frequent for periods, most widespread by afternoon with some heavy downpours moving around slowly. Some sunshine. Winds will be light, with some sea breezes around the coasts. Temperatures 14 to 17C, or up to 20C in the southeast.
