Drier to the south

Saturday
A windy, cloudy and wet morning over much of the Midlands, East Anglia and northern England as well as eastern England. Heavy showers in western parts of the UK and Ireland, a chance of thunderstorms here too. Becoming drier and brighter over southern areas of the UK with scattered showers. Drier in the far northwest of Scotland. Severe gales in the south of the UK and parts of northern England, these winds easing as the day progresses. Temperatures rising to a cold 10C over much of northern England and Scotland, 16C in any brightness in southern England.


Saturday Night
Winds ease for most through this evening and overnight, although it stays breezy until the early hours over northeast Scotland. Raining in northeast Scotland too. Drier across most areas, just an occasional shower over western coasts and hills. Lows near 7 to 9C.
 


Sunday
Lower pressure remains in control on Sunday. A southwest breeze allows for sunny spells, although scattered showers will be developing, most over high ground and through central and eastern England. A risk of some heavier showers in Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Temperatures at 21C in southeast England in the sunshine, more generally 14 to 18C.
 


Monday
A day of sunshine and showers on Monday. There will be sunny spells to start the day, but then showers developing. The showers becoming heavy and thundery, especially in central and southern England as well as eastern and central Scotland. Fewer showers in Ireland, a few of them heavy. Drier around western, northern and eastern coasts. Highs at 13C in northern Scotland, 16 to 21C elsewhere.
