Showers, outbreaks of rain

Saturday
Fronts passing eastwards through the UK on Saturday. These bring stronger winds and periods of rain through Saturday morning though this tends to fragment and ease through the morning. Meanwhile another area of heavier, more persistent rain spreads across Ireland and Northern Ireland through the morning reaching western Scotland through the afternoon. This spreads into northern and western parts of England and Wales later. A windy day. Highs at 7 to 12C.


Saturday Night
A band of rain, sometimes heavy, stays across Wales and northern and southwestern parts of England overnight. Staying drier ahead of this for much of central and eastern England while showers develop behind it to the northwest for Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Staying breezy through the night. Overnight lows at 1 to 4C for Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland; 6 to 9C across much of England and Wales.


Sunday
Rain clears to the southeast on Sunday, associated with a front. Brighter weather follows from the west and north, this bringing cooler conditions too. There will be showers, some of them heavy in the north and west, turning to sleet and snow on hills. More persistent rain with snow on the hills in Scotland and Northern Ireland at times. High temperatures at 6 to 10C.
 


Monday
A cold day on Monday as a ridge of high pressure builds in the west bringing a widespread morning frost. This also brings sunshine and isolated showers in the east, but dry weather to start in the west. Cloud builds to the west later with rain arriving to the far northwest of Ireland and over northwestern Scotland through the evening. Highs at 6 to 11C and feeling chilly in the wind.
