A chilly start for northern areas but milder to the south. Showery outbreaks of rain affect southern parts of the UK through the morning while rain spreads from the southwest across Ireland. Staying mostly dry for Scotland though sunny spells become largely confined to the northeast as cloud builds. Rain arrives over Wales and the southwest of England later.

Good Morning,

It's a chilly start to the day with frost and some patchy ice over northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Dry and bright for most too though there could be the odd shower for north Wales, northern England and East Anglia. Later the risk of showers spreads to the Midlands. Cloudier over much of Ireland with rain arriving from the southwest through the morning.

Cloud builds over southwestern parts of the UK through the afternoon while rain spreads across Ireland. A band of showery rain extends from northwest to southeast across England ahead of this. Staying mostly dry across Scotland through the afternoon with the best of the sunshine becoming increasingly confined to northeastern areas as the afternoon progresses.

Through the evening rain arrives over Wales and southwestern England while showers fade elsewhere. Winds picking up to the southwest too. The best of any clear skies will be over far eastern parts of England and Scotland.

Have a good day!

Claire
