A bright day for most, though windy with showery rain in the northwest

Good morning,

Cloud and outbreaks of rain, possibly thundery, across southern and southeasten areas of England first thing. Otherwise a mostly dry and fine morning across the rest of England, Wales and eastern regions of Scotland. Showery rain will affect western areas here as well as Northern Ireland where it will be breezy, windy in the far northwest.

Showery rain eases back across western areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland through the afternoon. Mostly dry with plenty of sunny spells elsewhere.

Overnight, Staying mostly dry across southern parts of Ireland and England though cloud will thicken further north and west with outbreaks of rain moving in, heavy in places across Scotland through the early hours. Winds strengthen through Scotland and Northern Ireland, breezy across northern parts of England.
