Warm in south, cooler to the north with most rain in the north and west

The mixed conditions continue through the coming week with fronts bringing outbreaks of rain. Most rain is expected in northern and western areas where there will also be low cloud and some coastal fog as well. Drier to the south with some showers in Scotland. Warm in southern areas of the UK but cooler in the north.

Friday 17/8/18
A ridge of high pressure over the south of the UK on Friday with low pressure affecting the north and Ireland. Mainly dry and warm in England and eastern Wales. Low cloud affecting some western coasts of Wales. Fronts brings rain and cloud to the north and west of Ireland as well as western Scotland. Breezy for western Ireland and Scotland. Highs at 24C in the south and east, 15C in northern Scotland.

Saturday 18/8/18
Fronts trailing through Ireland and Scotland as well as northwest England on Saturday. Low pressure stays to the north with higher pressure to the south. Cloud and rain along the fronts with drizzle affecting many western coasts and hills of Wales and southwest England. Drier, brighter and warmer in southern and southeast England. Fresher and breezier in Scotland with sunny spells and a scattering of showers. Highs at 25C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.

Sunday 19/8/18
An area of lower pressure crosses Scotland on Sunday. This takes some rain with it in the morning in Scotland, clearing into the North Sea. Brighter elsewhere with a mix of sunshine and showers, most of the showers to the west. Highs at 25C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.
 

Monday 20/8/18
Weak fronts could bring a fair amount of cloud through Ireland, Wales and western England on Monday. Low cloud and drizzle afecting western hills and coasts. More northern and eastern areas tending to be drier and brighter with some sunny spells. Highs at 24C in southern England, 17C in Scotland.

Tuesday 21/8/18
Fronts remain through Ireland and the UK on Tuesday giving cloud and rain across much of Ireland, Wales, western and northern England. Probably drier in southeast England and muggy here. Cooler weather follows in Scotland a western Ireland introducing cooler weather with sunshine and scattered showers here. Highs at 26C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.

Fronts clearing to the south on Wednesday. Bright weather with showers and some sunny spells affecting most areas. A cooler day too. Highs at 13 to 21C.
