Sunday 23/08/20
Low pressure to the northeast of Scotland will continue to fill while still bring a wet and windy day for northern Scotland and the Northern Isles. Meanwhile, a weak and brief ridge of high pressure will build over the country. This will allow for a generally brighter day for many but still with showers about. Some of these showers look likely to merge into longer spells of rain across southern and southeastern England in the afternoon. Ireland will see cloud build in the west later on. Highs at 21C in the south and in the north at 15C.

Monday 24/08/20
Starting wet on Monday with spells of rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as across western parts of Wales, northwest England and west Scotland. Meanwhile, central and eastern areas will be dry and fine with sunshine. Cloud will soon thicken across these areas and rain will become widespread across the country, although the southeast of England should stay dry throughout. Through the afternoon rain should clear western parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Max temperatures in the south at 21C and in the north of Scotland at 17C.

Tuesday 25/08/20
An unsettled day on Tuesday as low pressure tracks eastwards across Ireland and the northern half of the UK. A band of rain, heavy at times, will push east with winds strengthening. The far southeast of England will stay drier for longer before rain reaches this region later on. Behind the rain band expect sunny spells and some scattered showers. Highs at 23C in the southeast and 17C further north.

Wednesday 26/08/20
Low pressure tracks eastwards and fills while high pressure attempts to build in behind. This will allow for Ireland and Northern Ireland to see mostly dry and fine conditions with an improving picture across Wales and England. Scotland could hold on to showers or longer spells of rain throughout much of the day and there will be a chilly brisk northerly wind down eastern coasts of the country. High temperatures range from 16C to 20C and 14C along northeast coasts.

Thursday 27/08/20
A largely dry and fine day is expected now on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure builds in over the country, however, there will be some showers developing in the afternoon, these mainly in the north and east. Cloud looks likely to thicken across west Ireland as patchy outbreaks of rain move in later on in the day. High temperatures range from 17 to 22C.

Friday 28/08/20
High pressure gets squashed further east allowing for continued dry and fine conditions for much of England and eastern Scotland. Cloudy skies and spells of rain, however, across Ireland and Northern Ireland. The rain will push east and affect western parts of the UK later. Drier and brighter where the rain clears across Ireland. High temperatures range from 15 to 20C.
