Tuesday 30/10/18
Confidence of detail is low: An area of rain is forecast to pivot across central and eastern England, later eastern Scotland as low pressure drifts northwards over the North Sea. Windy with possible gales on eastern coasts. Sleet or wet snow over high ground. Clusters of showers further west, mixed with spells of sunshine. Many western areas of Britain and much of Ireland may well escape dry all day. Staying cool, highs just 7 to 10C.

Wednesday 31/10/18
A slack pressure pattern is likely, again with uncertainty of detail. Shallow areas of low pressure still nearby. A mixed outlook, with some areas of frequent showery rain, but also areas of largely dry and sunny weather. A slight frost is possible at first. Winds fairly light overall. Temperatures recovering a little compared to earlier in the week, highs 9 to 12C.

Thursday 01/11/18
A complex pressure pattern continues. Somewhat milder air is expected to advance northwards across the UK. Bursts of rain in places, locally frequent for a few hours, but also good amounts of dry weather. Winds becoming south or southwesterly, fairly light for most, but gusty around rain and near coasts. Highs 10 to 14C.

Friday 02/11/18
Southerly winds are likely to strengthen, as fronts come back in from the Atlantic. Rain developing widely for Ireland and western Britain, although the timing of this system is very uncertain. Eastern regions likely largely dry. Milder than early in the week, highs 11 to 15C.

Saturday 03/11/18
A spell of rain is likely pass east, followed by showers from the west. Some bright or sunny spells may come through. Blustery southwesterly winds. Highs 10 to 14C.

Sunday 04/11/18
Further wind and rain is expected to move in from the Atlantic, which may set in for many hours. A risk of gales. Highs 9 to 13C.
