Severe gales on Friday then mixed into the weekend and next week

Warm conditions continue in the east into this weekend. An area of severe gales affecting much of the country on Friday with a risk of some minor damage in the west. Cooler on Sunday with conditions then becoming more mixed next week with temperatures rising again in the east.

Saturday 13/10/18
Another area of low pressure passes northeast through Ireland on Saturday. This brings rain into Ireland and the west and north of the UK. Eastern and southern areas are likely to be drier with some sunny spells. A few showers may affect southern coasts of England in the afternoon. Becoming brighter in Ireland with sunny spells and some showers. Highs at 14C in Ireland and western Scotland, up to 24C in eastern England.

Sunday 14/10/18
Low pressure passes through Scotland on Sunday. Rain clears from the east with a mix of sunshine and showers then following together with cooler weather. Highs at 15C in southeast England, 11C in western Scotland.


 
 
 

Monday 15/10/18
A ridge of high pressure brings a fair start to the day with sunny spells. Cloud and rain spreading to Ireland and the west of the UK as a front arrives. Winds increasing too bringing gales. Highs at 13 to 16C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 16/10/18
Low pressure north of Scotland on Tuesday. Showers and rain affecting many areas, the showers heavy and thundery at times. Highs at 12 to 18C.

Wednesday 17/10/18
A day of sunshine and showers on Wednesday. Low pressure will be north of Scotland with higher pressure to the south. Showers should be fairly well scattered, most in the west. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Thursday 18/10/18
A better day is possible on Thursday. A ridge of high pressure brings sunny spells and dry conditions. Rain may arrived again in Ireland later. Highs at 14 to 19C.
