Wednesday 24/10/18
A prevailing west to northwesterly pattern continues, around high pressure centred to the west of Ireland. Fog in central and south-western England & Wales, also much of Ireland in the morning, but likely to lift. Some low cloud will be stubborn around western coasts. Sunshine best in the east and south-east. Breezy across Scotland, otherwise winds will be light. Temperatures warmest in the east and south-east, up to 16 to 18C locally. Nearer 11 to 13C north-west.

Thursday 25/10/18
High pressure retreats slowly, but generally fair weather should continue. A west to northwesterly breeze. Variable cloud and sunshine, best in the east and south. A little rain or drizzle in the far north-west, becoming wetter later for northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Fog patches in the morning for central and southern regions. Highs 13 to 16C, mildest in the south.

Friday 26/10/18
Indications favour a cooler northwesterly pattern developing as low pressure develops over Scandinavia. Showers most likely in the north-west of Britain and Ireland, these wintry over Scottish mountains - most frequent in northern areas. A cold front passing south may trigger local showers elsewhere, but it will be dry with sunny spells for many. Feeling cooler, highs 10 to 14C.

Saturday 27/10/18
A chilly feel is expected, with northerly winds bringing a scattering of showers draped around north facing coasts. Snow over Scottish mountains. Most central and southern regions will stay dry with sunshine, and very clear air. Frost overnight where sheltered. Feeling distinctly chilly, top temperatures just 8 to 12C.

Sunday 28/10/18
Staying chilly, but generally dry for many. A few showers locally, most frequent around north facing coasts, especially the North Sea. Local shower bands clipping Irish Sea coasts and south-west England too. Wintry over the hills in the north. Sunshine for many. A frost in the morning. Highs 8 to 11C.

Monday 29/10/18
Pressure is expected to rebuild briefly before a more unsettled west to northwesterly regime looks likely into the new week. For Monday, many places may be dry, with local showers. Chilly, with frost in the morning. Highs 9 to 13C.
