Morning Call - October 21, 2018
Dry and warm south
Patchy rain north

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 21st October 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Breezy and cooler northern areas

Good morning,

High pressure is centred west of Ireland today, building to become a strong feature early in the new week. Generally high pressure also lies south of Britain where it will stay fair with plenty of sunshine.

A cold front slips southwards across the British Isles, with some rain and drizzle for southern Scotland, north-west England and north Wales, but very little rain left on the front by the time it reaches the Midlands later, perhaps a brief shower.

Sunshine and showers for north-west Scotland, with hail or snow over the mountains. Much of Scotland and Northern Ireland becoming dry after early patchy rain. Breezy for northern areas, but light winds for central-southern Britain.

Today's top temperatures will reach 15 to 18C for the Midlands and south-east, but nearer 12 to 14C toward the north and west of the UK. A chilly night lies ahead.

Have a great day.
Garry
