Muggy, damp northwest
Drier to south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 4th October 2018
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mild and cloudy, damp north and west but drier and warm in the south and east

Good morning,

A cloudy day for many, but it will be mild overall thanks to the southwesterly wind. There are fronts affecting Scotland bringing some rain in western areas here. Bits of drizzle and low cloud affecting western coasts and hills, brighter and drier in the east and south. The rain band slips into Ireland this afternoon, most rain in southwest Scotland, northern and western Ireland. fairly damp in northwest England and parts of western Wales. Tending to be drier in eastern, central and southern England. Very warm in any sunshine in the southeast with temperatures nudging 21C.

Cooler air slipping southeast into Scotland and Northern Ireland tonight whilst rai stays over northern England and southern Ireland as well as Wales. Drier and mild again through the rest of England.
