Sunday 21/10/18
A cold front will move south as a weakening feature, with a ridge of high pressure building east across much of the British Isles. Still some rain or drizzle about at first in northern and western areas but becoming confined to the far north of Scotland later, otherwise a dry day with variable cloud cover and some sunshine. Becoming breezy around the coast and windy in the far north of Scotland with a risk of gales. Highs 11 to 16C in the north, near to 18C in the south.

Monday 22/10/18
A ridge of high pressure over much of the British Isles, slipping south. Frontal troughs slow-moving near to Northern Scotland. Cloudy across the north and northwest of Scotland with rain or drizzle but dry for remaining areas with some sunshine. Windy in the north. Cooler generally, highs 11 to 14C.

Tuesday 23/10/18
High pressure persists to the southwest of Ireland, with a slow-moving frontal trough close to Northeast Scotland. Rain or drizzle at times for the north and west of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Breezy, especially around the coast. Remaining areas dry but cloudier, the best of any sunshine in the south and east. Highs 11 to 15C.

Wednesday 24/10/18
A slow-moving high to the west of Ireland, with a weak frontal trough near to Northeast Britain. Little change with some rain or drizzle around the north and west of Scotland most other areas dry but often cloudy, again the best of any sunshine in the south and east. Cool throughout and cold in some northern parts overnight. Highs 11 to 14C.

Thursday 25/10/18
High pressure near to Western Ireland declines, allowing a frontal trough to advance towards Scotland. Bright intervals but mostly cloudy with a little rain or drizzle in Northwest Scotland and, perhaps, Eastern England. Highs 11 to 14C.

Friday 26/10/18
A cold front moves south across the British Isles, with a chilly northwesterly airstream becoming established. High pressure drifts east and becomes centred to the west of Ireland. Rain at first in the north will give way to sunny intervals and showers, although the south and southeast is likely to remain dry. Highs 9 to 13C.
