Quieter weather, small amounts of rain

Wednesday 17/10/18
A westerly breeze influences the country as fronts clear eastwards. A little rain moves across central-southern England early in the day, followed by sunshine and showers, the rain most frequent toward western Scotland during the day. Lengthy dry periods for much of England & Wales. Pressure builds from the south-west later. Feeling fresh, highs 10 to 13C north & west, 14 to 16C in the south-east.

Thursday 18/10/18
High pressure builds across England and Wales. A fair day overall. Some fog in the morning, but will clear to leave a good deal of sunshine. Cloud spills into western regions, and drizzly showers are likely to affect western Scotland and Ireland as a southerly wind strengthens here. Otherwise winds will be light. After a cool start, top temperatures will reach 13 to 16C, warmest in the east.

Friday 19/10/18
The south and east should stay largely dry, whilst fronts move back into western regions, bringing some rain at times. A south to southwesterly breeze, strongest across the north and west of Britain. A cool start in the south, with local fog patches after dawn. Fairly mild away from rain, highs 12 to 16C.

Saturday 20/10/18
High pressure influences the south, whilst a southwesterly flow is expected for northern areas. Some rain for north-west Scotland and Ireland, otherwise dry and mild. Sunshine best in the east. Possible fog in the morning. Highs 13 to 18C.

Sunday 21/10/18
Patchy rain is likely to affect northern Britain and Ireland, whilst southern and central areas should remain dry and mild. High pressure lies to the west. A west or northwesterly breeze. Highs 11 to 17C, warmest south.

Monday 22/10/18
High pressure is expected to build from the south-west. Mainly fair, with morning fog and slight frost locally. A westerly breeze in the north may bring drizzly showers to western Scotland. Highs 11 to 16C.
