Cloud is likely to drift in from the east across England, with a few showers likely for East Anglia, these moving slowly westwards into the Midlands by afternoon. A cool easterly breeze in the southeast, light winds for most places. Temperatures up to 10 to 12C after a cold start, but cooler near eastern coasts. Locally 14C in northern Scotland to the lee of the Highlands.

Thursday night
Generally dry into the night with skies clearing for many places. A few local mist patches forming in low-lying districts up to dawn, but these soon dispersing. Mostly light winds. A northeasterly breeze continues around southeastern coasts, whilst southerly winds will tend to increase for western Scotland and Ireland. Frosty again in many rural areas, particularly central England & Wales. Lows near 0C in many towns, locally -3C or below in the countryside.

Friday

A little fair weather cloud building through the day. High cloud tending to thicken across the north and west, with strengthening southerly winds for western Scotland and Ireland. A little rain may move into the Western Isles. Highs 11 to 14C, but cooler around North Sea coasts.

Saturday
Staying dry overall with a good deal of sunshine. Cloud filling in a little by afternoon. An area of low pressure over the Atlantic brings rain to the west of Ireland, which may extend into the far west of Scotland later with thickening cloud here.
