Early showers clearing east this afternoon, turning drier and brighter in the west

band of showers and rain affecting eastern Scotland and eastern England this morning, slowly edging eastwards. Further scattered showers in western areas but dry with some bright or sunny spells elsewhere. The showers tending to become more frequent in the west later in the morning.

Showers through Scotland and northern England, running into Wales and western England in the afternoon. Drier in the east and south with some cloud here. Further showers in eastern Ireland although dry in the west.

Tonight brings showers through Wales, and northern England, drier to the south. More rain in southern and eastern Scotland but dry in northern Scotland. A few showers in eastern Ireland, but drier in the west.
