Murky and cloudy for a time in the north, while patchy rain moves in from the southwest.

Rain in Ireland, west Wales and southwest England, breezy here too. Cloudy and murky for northern parts of the the British Isles, brighter towards the south.

The rain passes north and east through the afternoon to reach southwest Scotland, northwest England and the north and west of Wales, although it will become increasingly light and drizzly. Dry in the north and east of Scotland, rain in central Scotland by evening. A few showery bits of rain across central and southern England but many places staying dry here. Becoming brighter in Ireland although staying breezy.

Overnight, cloud and patchy rain gradually clears from northeast Scotland leaving mostly dry conditions with clear spells behind, though blustery showers are expected on to western regions. Winds will strengthen.
