Chilly for all, best sunshine in the west then colder early next wee with snow showers

A chilly week ahead with plenty of dry weather, especially in the west which is also where the best sunshine will be. Showers in the east, a few making it inland. By Sunday and early next week a plunge of colder air will sink south through all areas bringing lower temperaures and an increased risk of snow showers.

Friday 3/3/23
The UK and Ireland stay under high pressure on Friday. Dry with the best spells of sunshine in the south and west, although there could be some early fog patches in more sheltered areas. Some cloud in eastern areas and a few showers here too. Highs at 7 to 9C after a morning frost.
 

Saturday 4/3/23
A weak front may bring some patchy rain or sleet to northern and central Scotland on Saturday. A morning frost for many. Cloudier in the east but dry. Brighter in the west with sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 9C and a morning frost.

Sunday 5/3/23
Cloudier on Sunday and staying cold. Some wintry showers affecting northern and eastern areas. Broken cloud for other parts, some bright spells but also a few wintry showers in the west. Highs at 3 to 6C.

Monday 6/3/23
A cold day again with sunny spells in England, Wales and much of Ireland. Snow showers in central and northern Scotland where it will feel increasingly cold. The showers may merge into more persistent periods of snow in parts of Scotland later. Tops at 3 to 5C.

Tuesday 7/3/23
Low pressure may be in the North Sea on Tuesday. Cold for all with bands of sleet and snow showers passing south. Most of the snow showers over northern and western facing coasts and hills. Highs at 3 to 6C.

Wednesday 8/3/23
Low pressure stays east of the UK on Wednesday. A cold day with a mic of sunshine and showers. The showers will be wintry with heavy snow showers in northwest Scotland. Tops at 3 to 6C.
