Staying mostly dry and cold, some showers in the east, then rain in Ireland later

Pressure stays high for most of this week and therefore the weather will be mostly dry. There will be showers in northern and eastern areas, but generally very little rainfall is expected. It is going to be staying cold too. Towards the end of the week more persistent rain may affect Ireland for a while with milder temperatures here.

Wednesday 1/3/23
High pressure over northern Scotland on Wednesday giving a cool northeast wind to all. Broken cloud again affecting eastern areas with a few showers here. Brighter in the west and south although still with broken cloud but the best of the sunshine in these areas. Highs at 6 to 8C.
 

Thursday 2/3/23
High pressure remains on Thursday, centred over northern Scotland. Some cloud and a few showers in the east. Brighter in western areas with some sunshine here. Highs at 6 to 8C.

Friday 3/3/23
The UK and Ireland stay under high pressure on Friday. Dry with good spells of sunshine, the best in the south and west, although there could be some early fog patches. Some cloud in eastern areas and a few showers here too. Highs at 6 to 8C after a morning frost.

Saturday 4/3/23
A weak front may bring soms patchy rain or sleet to northern Scotland. Cloudier in the east but dry. Brighter in the west with sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 8C and a morning frost.

Sunday 5/3/23
A cloudier day with a front through the country. This brings some outbreaks of rain of rain in the north and east with some sleet and snow over the Scottish hills. Some bright spells in the south. A risk of more persistent rain and stronger winds in Ireland. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern areas.

Monday 6/3/23
High pressure stays over the UK on Monday. There may be some morning mist and fog patches, these lifting to broken cloud and mostly dry weather. Increased cloud in Ireland with drizzle and mist here. Highs at 6 to 8C.
