Friday
Further Atlantic fronts sweep into the west & northwest of the British Isles, with rain setting in again, heaviest across Scotland and Ireland, extending to northwest England and Wales through the day. Largely dry toward the southeast of England, with some sunshine and high cloud. A strong southwesterly wind, gales around north & western coasts. Highs at 7 to 11C.

 


Friday night
Outbreaks of rain and showers continue for northern and western areas overnight, pushing further southeast by morning. These readily turning to sleet and snow over Scotland and Northern Ireland. Staying very windy overnight with gales for western and northern coasts and hills. Overnight lows at 1 to 4C for Scotland and Northern Ireland, 5 to 10C elsewhere.
 


Saturday
A marked north to south temperature contrast on Saturday. Cool with a mix of showers or some longer periods of rain in the north and west - snow or hail over hills in Scotland. Drier and brighter in the south and east with showers reaching the north of England later. Breezy for all. Highs 3 to 7C north & west, up to 10 to 13C for the Midlands, south & southeast England.
 


Sunday
An area of rain is expected to pass west to east across Ireland, England and Wales. Heavy for several hours through the morning for western hills. Clearing to leave sunny spells and scattered showers as pressure builds from the west. Brisk winds around southern coasts. Cool in the north with hill snow for Scotland, highs at 4 to 7C. Mild in the south, highs at 11 to 13C.
